Sunday in the Park

Children and adults can climb onboard one of the many miniature steam engines or ride a replica of Queensland's first steam engine through beautiful heritage listed Queens Park.

The trains run on the last Sunday of the month as part of the Sunday in the Park celebrations which include brass bands, food stalls and children's activities.

Maryborough Heritage City Markets

Experience the colour, atmosphere and great value of Maryborough's Heritage City Markets.

Every Thursday Maryborough's inner city is transformed into a bustling outdoor market where you are guaranteed to find farm fresh produce, entertainment and a great bargain from one of the many art, craft, fashion and gift stalls.

Meet Mary Heritage and the Town Crier. Discover Maryborough's fascinating history on a free guided walking tour. Ride the Mary Anne - a working replica of Queensland's first steam engine - at nearby Queens Park. And don't miss the firing of the historic time cannon at 1pm.

Maryborough Cemetery Tours

Explore Maryborough's buried past on the 3rd Friday night of the month. This historical tour is fully guided by experienced guides from the Maryborough District Family History Society. Please bring a torch and wear covered shoes.

Portside Lamplight Bazaar

Relive the lively early days of Maryborough with a Lamplight Bazaar at Gatakers Artspace on the Saturday night on the last full weekend of the month.

Live music and entertainment, food and beverages available as well as quirky torchlight tours will help turn back the clock 160 years to when Maryborough was one of Australia’s largest and busiest ports.

Old fashioned guides will take people on a Nightwatchman’s tour of Portside, spinning yarns about sailors, smugglers, brothels and opium dens. Exhibits will come alive on a “Night at the Museum” tour of the Maryborough Military and Colonial Museum Gatakers ArtSpace will also host a series of musical and artistic performances and exhibitions on Saturday to coincide with the Lamplight Bazaar. 

Mary Poppins Festival

Mary Poppins characters, cannon firing, madcap nanny races, street theatre, puppets, steam trains, vintage cars and workshops. Set in Maryborough's magnificent historical streetscapes and the Brolga Theatre, it's the ultimate family festival!

This week of July is packed with a range of events for every child and adult to enjoy.

Portside Food and Wine Festival

Food and wine lovers can indulge in a delightfully delicious new event on the Fraser Coast calendar.

Come along and sample some wine and cheese, beer and food matching, cooking demonstrations and international foods that will help to showcase the region's fresh seasonal produce, local seafood, innovative chefs and regional wineries.

Maryborough's old fashioned streetscapes, art, architecture and the river will serve as a distinct backdrop to this celebration of food and wine.

Food and Wine visitors will be entertained by live music and be amused by roving characters and street performers.

World's Greatest Pub Fest

Dress in your most outrageous costume and set off to the bang of an historic time cannon around Maryborough’s old hotels – all in the name of raising money for charity.
